This was gonna be hard. He was dreading it.

He walked into headquarters and looked up from his paper to see her across the room going over some papers with Lou. She smiled--hesitantly--and he returned it--hesitantly--before walking into his office.

He noticed the steaming cup of coffee right away. As he brought it to his dimpled mouth, he read the note that had been sitting under it:

Joshua,

I can do this now, since I'm not your assistant. Thank you for being okay with that, by the way.
